Public Notice of Election and Qualifying Information
An election for the purpose of electing three Council Members will be held on November 7, 2023. The qualifying fee shall be 3% of the total gross salary of the office. The qualifying fee for each council seat will be $135.00.

Qualifications to hold public office in the City of Temple
Pursuant to the City of Temple Charter the qualifications of Mayor and Council Members shall be as follows:
The members of the city council shall serve for terms of four years and until their respective successors are elected and qualified. No person shall be eligible to serve as mayor or council member unless that person shall have been a resident of the City for 12 months prior to the date of the election of mayor or members of the council. For purposes of electing members of the city council, other than the mayor, the City is divided into five city council districts. Each candidate for council member must be a resident of the city council district he or she seeks to represent, but council members will be elected at large. The mayor shall continue to reside in the city during the period of service and to be registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections of this city, and each council member shall continue to reside in the district from which elected during the period of service and to be registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections of the city. All candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
